About Erica Wheeler
In addition to her career as an interpretive trainer for parks and museums, Erica Wheeler has been a nationally touring artist for several decades, performing at clubs, concert halls, and national festivals.
An award-winning singer-songwriter with six recordings to her credit, and three released on the Signature Sounds label, Erica’s music has charted in the top ten on Billboard’s Gavin Americana Chart and the Folk DJ List. Her work has been featured in Yankee Magazine and The Washington Post, and she has been interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered and Voice of America.
She has taught songwriting at venues ranging from the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Song School to the Swannanoa Gathering. Her 2008 CD Good Summer Rain was sponsored in part by the Trust for Public Land, a national land conservation organization.
Erica also offers keynotes that weave her songs into her presentations, and she has been a featured presenter at events including the Association of National Park Rangers and several Governor’s Conference on Tourism.
Her music is a blend of contemporary folk, Americana, country, and bluegrass. She is known for her warm, conversational style and sense of humor, and her songs have been called “cinemagraphic” for their ability to evoke vivid visual and sensory details. Erica’s programs help people experience a sense of place and belonging that is deeply needed in the world today.
