“You’ve given me a whole new way of thinking about place. I realized you don’t have to be from a place in order to be able to relate or connect or be able to write about it. I think that’s been something I’ve been very hung up on... living in a place where I really don’t feel connected to it and searching for how do I fit in here. This process has really helped me come to terms with it, and how that’s okay. I can write about that." Participant, Sense of Place Creative Writing Class

I think the power of this is that I’ve thought of writing, but I’ve always kept the idea inside my head. It’s putting it down on paper that’s truly awesome. Because of this class I’ve felt and noticed so much more.” Participant, Sense of Place Creative Writing Class

In today’s fast-paced world, we’re all searching for something deeper.

Many of us feel disconnected—from ourselves, our surroundings, and each other. We pass through landscapes, hear stories, but rarely feel the power they hold. I call it an “epidemic of disconnect.”

It’s not enough to just visit or live in a place.

We want something more:
connection, meaning, and belonging.

We can heal this disconnect and live more rooted to where we are and who we are.

For some, that means slowing down, listening, and reconnecting—with our surroundings and ourselves.

For others, it’s about inspiring people by crafting narratives that move them, designing programs that inspire action, and creating experiences that matter.
